Rev. James Jih

jihRev. James Jih immigrated to the US in 1973 and have been residing in California. He felt that his life was boring, so he often went to church and came to know the Lord, and met his beautiful wife Melinda, the two of them were married in 1986. They have a daughter and a son. Pastor Jih has a masters degree in Educational Psychology. After obtaining his Master of Divinity in 1993 from Southern Baptist Golden Gate Seminary, he has been learning and serving at church. In 1998, God led him and more than 20 brothers and sisters; together they founded the Tree of Life Christian Church. Pastor Jih’s heart is to become one of the leaves of the tree of life, so that he may pass on His healing and love to people, for God healed him so that he may have a healthy life to serve.

Pastor Linmen Chen

linmenLinmen came to the States in the 70s to attend graduate school. Her faith was shaped in the campus student fellowship in the United States. Her career   background was in medical social work and social services. Before her retirement, she worked in long-term care facilities in Houston, Texas, and for the social service agency of Santa Clara County, California. She served in various Chinese churches both in Houston and in the Bay Area for more than 20 years. In 1998 the Lord called her into full time ministry, because she had never considered becoming a pastor, she was rather hesitant and unsure. It took her 2 years to seek confirmation of the Lord's calling and in 2001 she took an early retirement in order to fully engage in ministering work at TOL.  At that time, she felt the Lord told her to learn to serve people, so she started her "training" as a cell group leader, then a zone supervisor, learning first hand that God's priority in ministry is building people up through relationship building and through serving one another according to biblical truth.  In 2004, the Lord indicated to Linmen that it was time for her second phase of training in the Seminary. Linmen enrolled in Fuller Theological Seminary, Northern California  and obtained a Master's degree in Theology in 2009. Her main ministerial responsibilities at TOL at this moment are in the areas of equipping and intercession.

Pastor Agnes Hoang

agnes

Pastor Agnes Hoang is the pastor of the Children and Mission ministries. Since 1983, I have been serving in various positions in the Children Ministry, and I know that I grew up here. Looking back, there is a spiritual challenge almost every few years. In 1998, a group of us were called and started Tree of Life Church. In 2005, I was called to study theology & was ordained in 2009. In 2012, my husband and I were called for a mid-term mission to Southeast Asia for two years; and we saw God's work in remote villages! This experience renewed my understanding of Body life and Missions. We returned in 2015 and continued to serve with the Body in Tree of Life church. Every step of the Way was full of God's Grace!

Pastor Agnes and husband Jonathan enjoy walking & listening to worship songs. We would like to see that everyone has a true relationship with the Lord, and worship Him!

Minister Michael Shin

After graduating with a Bachelor in Computer Science in Canada, Michael made a big decision to come to the U.S.A. in 2015 to attend American Chinese Evangelical Seminary. Following obtaining a Master degree in Biblical study in 2017, he joined the Tree of Life team in the same year. He is currently responsible for TOLChurch.online ministry, and is also heavily involved in the young adult and equipping ministry.

Minister Joshua Pan

Joshua earned a Masters of Theological Studies degree from Gateway Seminary in Fremont and BA in Film and Digital Media from Baylor University in Texas. In 2006, Joshua began serving orphanages in Taiwan by bringing the orphans on monthly outings and serving blind students by tutoring them in English weekly. Finding great joy in serving the underprivileged community, Joshua continued to serve children over the next 13+ years from several different backgrounds - kids from The Projects in Texas, kids from Camp Ozark in Arkansas, and kids from schools and churches in the Bay Area.

During Joshua’s tenure in the Bay Area, he contributed heavily to startups and church plants in their efforts to successfully expand and grow as an organization. Joshua looks forward to bringing the same passion, presence, and power to Tree of Life through increasing their digital media presence and providing meaningful experience to students.

Joshua is blessed and happily married to his wife Christine from June 2019. He enjoys sports, videography, being entertaining, playing board games, and serving God. His dream project is to inspire, disciple, and build up the next generation of youth to become strong and successful Christian leaders. Joshua looks forward to creating more wonderful memories with Tree of Life’s English Ministry as God leads.
